The Financial Studies Institute, in partnership with "Babeș-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca, invites you on March 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM to the SmartFIN@ISF Vocational Training Seminar. The seminar includes interactive presentations on career topics, case studies, and technical and practical aspects of insurance, capital markets, and pensions.
Special guests for the March 11 session:
Prof. Dr. Marian SIMINICĂ, Executive Director of ISF and university professor at the University of Craiova, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He teaches Economic-Financial Analysis and Financial Diagnosis of Firms and supervises doctoral candidates in Accounting. He has extensive experience in university management, having served as Deputy Dean (2008-2012), responsible for scientific research and quality assurance, and as Dean from 2012 to 2016. He was Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Economics Faculties in Romania (2012-2016). He is a member of several professional associations in the economic field, including ANEVAR expert evaluator, serving as Secretary General of the association from 2016 to 2017; chartered accountant, CECCAR member; tax consultant, CCFR member. Since 2014, he has been Vice-President of the Romanian Society of Economic-Financial Analysis (SRAEF). Since 2017, he has been a member of the CNATDCU Commission for "Economic Sciences and Business Administration," and since 2018 a member of the permanent expert committee of ARACIS, contributing to the external evaluation of numerous undergraduate and master's programs in economics. He has extensive research experience, publishing seven books and university manuals, over 60 articles in specialized journals, including 12 articles in Web of Science indexed journals with non-null AIS, participating in national and international conferences, and engaging in scientific research contracts as grant director or team member. He is a reviewer for several Web of Science indexed journals and a member of the editorial board of several journals indexed in international databases. His main research directions are: financial performance and risks of enterprises; sectoral economic-financial analyses; models for researching enterprise behavior.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laura Elly NAGHI, Doctor in Finance - Insurance with over 15 years of experience in adult vocational training. She completed postdoctoral studies at ASE Bucharest in insurance. She has published several books in the financial field, indexed articles, and frequently participates in international conferences. An authorized ANC trainer with international certifications, she has contributed to the development of professional training manuals specific to non-banking financial markets. She presents at events organized in the financial market, including financial education projects for students (middle and high school) and pre-university teachers.
Cătălin MARIN – a graduate in engineering with over 20 years of experience in the insurance field, including 10 years in corporate claims management. Since 2019, he has joined UNIQA as Manager of the Non-Standard Claims Department, coordinating the claims activity across all business lines practiced by the company. From this position, he contributed to the creation of a team of professionals in his field, continuously developing and adapting claims services to the new technological, digital context, providing a unique experience for UNIQA clients.
Ioana Maria POPESCU holds the position of Head of Service in the Public Relations and Complaints Directorate of the Financial Supervisory Authority. With over 14 years of experience in the non-banking financial sector, she is a permanent member of the Investor Protection and Intermediaries Standing Committee and a former member of the Financial Innovation Standing Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority. She actively participates in the ASF's financial education program, being a lecturer in schools in Romania, including the British School of Bucharest, ISF, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iași, etc. Additionally, she organizes and supervises front office consumer activities within the Financial Supervisory Authority.
Anca TEODORESCU – a graduate of the UPB Faculty of Automation and ASE Management, has held the position of Project Management Officer (PMO) at Generali Romania for three years. She entered the insurance industry straight from university. She has coordinated and built IT teams and complex projects in top insurance companies in Romania, starting from 1995 with offline applications and data transfer on floppy disks to current integrated, secure, cloud architectures with fully automated and digitized processes. She has been a lecturer at ISF since 2014 and is an Authorized Trainer. Her experience of over 25 years in IT&C project implementations and digitization in insurance has highlighted the importance of being open to innovation, being promoters of change when we believe in it, and, above all, being happy in the environment we work in and with those we collaborate with.
