During 13 - 14 October 2023, in the beautiful balneary resort Moneasa, Arad County, at the Parc Hotel, was held the First Edition of The International Conference on "Ongoing Social, Economic, and Environmental Challenges" (OSEEC 2023). The Conference was organized by the Faculty of Economics and The Centre for Economic Research and Consultancy of "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad in collaboration with The Institute of Financial Studies (ISF), and succeeded to serve as a platform for researchers, scholars, and professionals to convene and discuss the significant social, economic, and environmental challenges that shape our world today.
Participating authors were professors, academics, researchers and PhD candidates. Master's students and undergraduate students were welcome to contribute to the conference, subjcet to the presence of a supervising faculty member as part of the team. We were glad to welcome a plethora of authors from numerous Romanian universities, as well as academies from the Republic of Moldova and Italy. By participating in OSEEC 2023, attendees had the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking presentations, panel discussions and networking sessions. The full papers submitted undergone a rigorous peer-review process conducted by the members of the Scientific Committee, thereby offering an avenue for further dissemination of research findings. As a result of the high volume of accepted works, some of the selected papers were published in various issues of the Journal of Financial Studies, which is edited by ISF, seventeen other articles were being considered for publication in the Conference Proceedings, namely the present volume.
OSEEC 2023 aimed and achieved to foster meaningful exchanges of knowledge and insights, promoting innovative approaches and solutions to address the ongoing challenges we face. With a diverse range of themes including social dynamics, economic policies, environmental conservation, and technological advancements, the conference provided a comprehensive forum for interdisciplinary discussions and collaborative research.
